Coagulants are widely used to destabilise the forces that keep colloidal and larger particles suspended in liquid.
By removal of these fine materials it is possible to physically reduce many pollutants - solids, colour, BOD /COD, FOG
(fats, oils & greases).
The extent of removal is dependent on their exact nature - experience and testing enables
us to provide the customer with a cost benefit analysis relating treatment costs to potential savings.
In many situations, inorganic coagulants, mostly salts of aluminium and iron, are used. However, blending these materials
with synthetic polymers can produce large benefits in applications where pH control and sludge production are an issue.
